Westminster Schools of Augusta is fortunate to be supported by many loyal donors whose gifts have a transformational impact on preparing students to impact the world as spiritually mature and intellectually prepared servant-leaders for Christ. Giving societies were formed so that we can celebrate God’s faithfulness to Westminster by recognizing donors who significantly commit to the school.

The Impact of a Legacy Gift: Dr. John Lindsell's Story

As a former Head of School, a parent of alumni, and a founding member of our Legacy Society, Dr. John Lindsell has experienced the mission of Westminster Schools of Augusta from almost every angle. We sat down with John, who served as Head of School from 1994 to 2002, to talk about his time at Westminster, why he and his wife, Stephanie, chose to make a planned gift, and what they hope their legacy will accomplish.

The 1972 Society

Named for the year of Westminster’s founding, the 1972 Society was established in 2009 and is the oldest donor recognition society at the school.

This elite group is comprised of donors who have made an annual, cumulative gift of $2,000 or more each year to any area school-wide.

Members of the 1972 Society enjoy a special relationship with Westminster leadership and are invited to a signature event each year.

1972 Society background

Gifts made to the 1972 Society make a tremendous impact no matter what area of campus they support. Gifts to the Westminster Fund, in particular, support a wide array of campus needs and programs. These programs help the school attract and retain the best and brightest faculty and students. Gifts to the 1972 Society also enable the school leadership to direct funds where the campus needs and opportunities are greatest.

1972 Society qualifications
  • Annual Gifts of $2,000 or more during one fiscal year. Membership is renewable annually.
  • Annual membership qualifications are based on cumulative giving to all areas of Westminster during the fiscal year, which runs July 1 – June 30.
