Statement of Beliefs
We believe that God is one being — infinitely just, wise, good, loving and holy, and existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the sovereign Creator of the universe, which He made out of nothing, and by His providence, sustains and rules all that He has made.
We believe that God reveals Himself and His truth in the created order, in the Scriptures, and supremely in Jesus Christ; and that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired by God and inerrant in the original writing. Because of this, they are fully trustworthy and of supreme and final authority in all that they say. All human authority is derived out of God's authority as He has delegated it to family, church, and state. Therefore, all authority must answer to God.
We believe that humans, male and female, were created in the image of God and in a state of original righteousness. This includes recognizing the divine blessing of children, including pre-born children. Through the deception of Satan and the disobedience of Adam and Eve, the historical parents of the entire human race fell into sin, resulting in physical and spiritual death. As a result of the fall, all people are born sinful and in need of salvation.
We believe that Jesus Christ, Son of God, is fully divine and fully human and that He saves His people from their sin by His sinless life, death, and bodily resurrection, and now reigns over His Church and the world through His Word and Holy Spirit.
We believe all who receive the Lord Jesus are justified by grace through faith only on the basis of the unfinished work of Christ (His death and bodily resurrection) and live life by the power of God.
We believe that the Holy Spirit regenerates sinners, resides in believers, and enables them to live a godly life and to use the spiritual gifts He has given them.
We believe that God is calling people from the whole human race to belive in His Son, Jesus Christ, and to become members of His Body, the Church. All those who believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior enjoy the blessings of God and the fellowship with each other in communities of faith until Jesus returns. As The Church, we are to embody His love by proclaiming the Gospel of God's redemptive love through our Lord Jesus Christ by word and deed, and by caring for all of God's creation and actively seeking the good of everyone, especially the poor and the needy.
We believe that human life, sexual identity, and roles within marriage are aspects of God's creative design; from creation, marriage is a covenant between a man and a woman that should be marked by sexual purity. Considering God created mankind in His image: male [man] and female [woman], sexually different but with equal personal dignity, we affirm that sex is biologically determined and not subject to change based on any form of self-identification. We also refrain from any and all attempts to physically change, alter, or disagree with one's biological sex, including the use of language or any other behavior that would promote confusion in these matters.
