GenCyber Teacher Camp
GenCyber is a nationwide program funded by the NSA and the National Science Foundation.
The GenCyber program provides summer cybersecurity camp experiences for students and teachers at the K-12 level. The goals of the program are to:
- increase interest in cybersecurity careers and diversity in the cybersecurity workforce of the nation;
- help all students understand correct and safe online behavior and how they can be good digital citizens;
- improve teaching methods for delivery of cybersecurity content in K-12 curricula.
This summer, 30 middle grades teachers (grades 5-8) will be selected to participate in the Westminster Schools of Augusta GenCyber Teacher Camp, where they will develop the skills they will need to raise up the next generation of cyber stars! Through a series of engaging, hands-on activities, the selected teachers will learn how to integrate the basics of cybersecurity, algorithmic thinking and computational problem solving seamlessly into their curriculum.
