ATHLETICS Snapshot
Westminster Athletics play an integral part in the lifeblood of our school. Our athletic program unites and promotes what we do here on campus. At each game and every practice for our 42 teams, from middle school to varsity, the focus is on the discipleship of Westminster students. We want each of our student-athletes to honor the Lord and grow in their faith. We also want Westminster coaches to use sport as a platform to reach our students and disciple them as they play, and as they grow in their relationships with each other and the Lord. Westminster athletes are called to not only be excellent at their chosen sports and perform at their highest level, but also to be Christ-like in character.

Boasting an impressive array of 42 athletic teams spanning both middle and varsity levels, Westminster Schools of Augusta has secured 26 state championships to date, with a remarkable 90% of students participating in one or more sports. At Westminster, we are dedicated to excellence, fostering a winning spirit in every endeavor. Our esteemed coaches go beyond mere athletic training; they are committed to nurturing student-athletes to excel both on and off the field. Through rigorous practice and guidance, our athletes cultivate strength, character, perseverance, integrity, and Christ-like behavior, embodying the core values that define Westminster.
GIAA Directors Cup
Westminster Schools of Augusta received the prestigious 2024 GIAA Directors Cup, an accolade recognizing the foremost athletic program within the Georgia Independent Athletic Association (GIAA). This achievement underscores our unwavering commitment to athletic excellence. Furthermore, our esteemed varsity coaches have been individually honored for their exceptional leadership and contributions and named GIAA coaches of the year: Shawn Brower, boys varsity soccer; Aaron Johnson, varsity cross country and track & field; and Chris Murphey, varsity football. These accolades reflect the dedication and skill of our coaching staff, whose efforts have significantly elevated Westminster's athletic program.
