Westminster Senior Eli Daniel to Play Soccer for Covenant College

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Westminster Schools of Augusta is proud to announce that senior Eli Daniel signed a letter of intent to play collegiate soccer at Covenant College on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 11:45 a.m.

A senior year team captain, Daniel has been a key player for Westminster's varsity defense for three years. As a three year starter, Eli has played a huge role in the team, amassing 11 shut-outs in their first 16 games while only surrendering six goals on the Wildcats' 15-0-1 season. After his role in helping his 2022 Wildcats get to the final and narrowly miss the state championship in an overtime / penalty shootout, he is determined to assist the team towards achieving the state title this year.

Daniel continues a strong Westminster tradition at Covenant College. He is the fifth Westminster team captain to join the Scots.

"Eli will prove to be a major contributor to the culture and ethos of the Covenant Scots soccer program. He has a big sense of team, brotherhood, and has a fighting spirit that refuses to quit or ever throw in the towel. He is a joy to coach and models an unrivaled work ethic each and every day. I highly suspect that he will be incredibly successful as a collegiate soccer player, teammate and whatever it is that God calls him to," said Westminster Soccer Coach, Shawn Brower.
