Westminster Schools of Augusta is pleased to announce John Egan as its athletic director. Mr. Egan succeeds Andrew Bryan in the role, who is moving on to pursue full time ministry.
Mr. Egan comes to Westminster from The Village School of Naples, in Naples, Fla., where he has served as its director of athletics since July 2021. Prior to that he spent nine years as the director of athletics and girls varsity soccer coach at Christian Heritage School in Trumbull, Conn. In both roles, Mr. Egan was integral in the development of new and fledgling programs, and increasing the participation of existing programs. He has coached successful soccer teams to New England Championships, League Championships, and New England tournaments, and been named Connecticut Prep Coach of the Year and National Coach of the Year (NCSAA).
Mr. Egan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Gordon College, and his Master of Education with an Athletic Administration concentration from Springfield College.
"I couldn't be more excited to join the Westminster Schools of Augusta community as the next athletic director," said Mr. Egan. "I am looking forward to building on the success the teams and department have enjoyed over the last few years. It's my goal to help our coaches lead in a way that truly integrates the Wildcat Way from top to bottom for all our teams, beginning with honoring Christ in all we do. My family and I look forward to cheering alongside you for many years to come! See you all at a Friday night football game this fall!"
Westminster is also pleased to announce Jill Egan as its admissions director. Mrs. Egan succeeds Dawn McCraith in the role, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities.
Mrs. Egan comes to Westminster from The Village School of Naples, in Naples, Fla., where she has served as a development associate since August 2021. Prior to that, Mrs. Egan served as an events manager for a non-profit and the world's leading hedge fund, as well as built her own small business. She has experience in all areas of fundraising and events management for non-profit organizations, particularly independent Christian schools.
Mrs. Egan earned her Bachelor of Arts from Gordon College.
Mrs. Egan notes: "I am beyond thrilled to join the Westminster team! It will be an honor to represent such a vibrant community through my new role in admissions, and I look forward to being part of a dynamic school during an exciting time of growth. As a parent, I am comforted to know that my kids will be integrating into a warm and welcoing family where they will be known and nurtured."
Mr. and Mrs. Egan will celebrate 18 years of marriage in June. They have three children: Maggie (15), Tessa (13), and John (9).
"It is an amazing blessing to the Westminster family, and the Augusta community, to have the Egans join our team! Their extensive history in Christian education aligns well with the school mission and vision for Westminster students," said incoming Head of School, Dr. Shawn Brower. "Having known John for over 20 years, I can speak to his passion for Christian athletics and his pursuit of excellence for the entire athletic program, while holding fast to his unwavering commitment to honor Christ above all else. His wife, Jill, brings experience and expertise that will serve her well as director of admissions. Her professionalism, service orientation, excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills, blended with her warm and welcoming personality, make her and exceptional selection for this role. I am thrilled to have them join our leadership team at Westminster, and for their three children to join our Westminster family."
Mr. and Mrs. Egan will join their new roles at Westminster on July 1.
