Middle School Baseball Update - Week 1

Middle School Baseball season begins with adversity.

We had our first 2 games last week and they were not pretty. On Monday St. Mary's beat us 16-0, followed by our Thursday non-conference game against Burke County MS where we lost 14-2. Our bats were silent all week, pitching arms were sore, and 2 players were ill and could not make the Thursday trip. We also gave our opponents many "extra outs" as we made throwing, fielding, and mental errors that cost us a number of runs. Both were good teams, but we will chalk up these games as "opening week jitters" and expect our hitting to "bounce back strong" this week and provide us the opportunity to win.
