Way to go, Wildcats!

The Wildcats from Westminster faced the Wildcats from Westwood in a rematch from earlier this season, but this time it was in the state semifinals with the winner moving on to the State Championship game on November 19th. Our boys from Westminster came to play and despite a mid-season loss to Westwood, the Westminster Wildcats played their best game of the season and came up with a 38-21 victory. With the win, our Wildcats will play in the state championship game for the second time in the past three years.
The semifinal game started with Westwood scoring first to make it 7-0, but then the offense and defense came alive. Westminster's defense was phenomenal, as they were led in tackles by Allen Grinalds Jr. and Henry Waller. Thomas Freeman also played the best game of his career coming up with 6 QB sacks and many other tackles. The defensive backfield came up with 6 interceptions, 2 by Whitt Tisdale, 2 by Eli Daniel, 1 by Henry Waller, and 1 "pick six" by Ryan Shiley.
The offense was led by QB Levi Murphey who passed for 298 yards and 4 touchdowns. Carter Huss and Whitt Tisdale were the leading rushers on the night and Henry Waller, Ryan Shiley, and Allen Grinalds Jr were the leading receivers. Touchdown passes were caught by Tisdale, Waller and two for Grinalds. Will Pucket got in on the scoring as well with a PAT and a field goal.
The Wildcats will play this Friday November 19th at 7:00 pm at Windsor Academy in Macon, GA.
