Wildcats come home with a big win!

Athletics News: Football | Westminster

The Wildcats traveled down to Cordele, GA to play Crisp Academy this past Friday and came away with a 48-0 road victory.  The defense once again held the opponent scoreless and was led by leading tackler Allen Grinalds Jr. along with Thomas Freeman and Liam Banks.  The offensive line of Chris Booker, James Kassner, and Liam Banks played well all night allowing the QB to make throws and opening holes for the running backs.  The opening touchdown was on a 74 yard run by Carter Huss and then followed up by leading receiver Henry Waller on a long pass from Levi Murphey.   Whitt Tisdale also scored on a long 45 yard run as well as scoring another TD from another Murphey pass.  Huss and Waller were not finished because they both also caught another TD pass to join Tisdale with two touchdowns each.  Tisdale also had an interception that he returned to the 1 yard line.  Paul Kassner got in on the TD action with a 66 yard run in the fourth quarter.  Westminster ended up with 418 total yards on offense including multiple runs by Huss, Tisdale, and Kassner and 128 yards passing and 4 TD's from Levi Murphey.  The Wildcats will be on the road again this week as they travel to Dominion Christian in Marietta GA.  Come out and support the Cats at the next home football game on Thursday October 21 at 6pm.  Please note the date and time change and come out for a fun "Thursday night lights" after fall break.
