Our Wildcats are still running well!

Both the middle school and varsity teams were in local meets this week with the middle school teams running in the Greenbrier Middle School Invitational on Thursday and the varsity at the Augusta Prep Invitational on Saturday.
The middle school girls picked up their third win of the season with a one point win over the second place Augusta Eagles. The girls claimed three of the top 5 spots, led by Emma Jordan (3), Molly Bramhall (4), and Kaylee Charles Finch (5) who crossed the finish line within seconds of each other. The boys finished third overall placing four in the top 15 including Caleb Lambert (5), Charlie Campbell (10), Ethan Dawkins (14) and Joe Hammarlund (15).
Saturday’s Augusta Prep Invitational featured some of the area’s top public and private schools. With temperatures in the low 60s and a flat fast course, the Wildcats expected to post some of the season’s fastest times and they did not disappoint. Abigail Knight led the girls with a new PR and three other girls ran season’s best times. The girls finished 6th overall. Ten of 13 boys set PRs with several of the JV boys seeing huge decreases from their previous personal records, including Jack Massey (40 secs), Josh Buchanan (1.5 mins), William Westmoreland (1:45 mins), Ben Lewis (2.5 mins) and Blake Peacock (2.5 mins). The Wildcats were led by Seniors Brad Joiner and Eli Scott and finished 7th out of 20 teams.
Next week, the middle school is at Augusta Prep while the varsity heads to North Augusta for the annual battle at Fox Creek.
