Meagan Murray, Lower School Kindergarten

Meagan MurrayMrs. Meagan Murray will be joining the lower school teaching kindergarten. She is a 2010 graduate of Westminster and a 2014 graduate of Presbyterian College, where she obtained a BA in early childhood education. During her time at PC, she was a cheerleader for the Blue Hose. Most recently, Mrs. Murray taught 2nd grade for three years in Aiken County. Prior to that, she spent four years teaching Pre-K through 2nd grade in the states of South Carolina, North Carolina and Arizona. Mrs. Murray and her husband moved back to North Augusta in 2017 for her husband's job with Club Car. She loves spending time with her husband, family and friends, as well as cheering on the Blue Hose and the University of South Carolina.

Rachel Daniel, Lower School PK3 Teaching Assistant

Rachel DanielRachel Daniel will be the new TA for PK3. She attended the University of Georgia and Medical College of Georgia, and graduated with a nursing degree. Mrs. Daniel has spent the last 18 years at home raising and homeschooling her five children (Hannah 18, Eli 16, Hank 15, Abe 13, and Reide 10). She has a passion for Christian education and a love for people and is thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to join the Westminster community.

Jordyn DeMoes, Middle and Upper School Physical Education

Jordyn DeMoesMrs. Jordyn DeMoes will be joining the middle school teaching PE and upper school teaching fitness and weightlifting, as well as being the assitant girls' basketball coach. Coach DeMoes graduated from Cal Lutheran University with her BS in Exercise Science and was previously working in the health, fitness and physical therapy world. Coach DeMoes and her husband moved to Augusta last year while being stationed here at Fort Gordon. A California native, Coach DeMoes loves all sports, but mainly the LA Dodgers, USC (Southern California) football, and the Golden State Warriors.

Marsha Duggan, Middle School Science

Marsha DugganMrs. Marsha Duggan will be joining the middle school, teaching 6th and 7th grade Earth and Life Science. She is an Augusta native and graduated from Georgia Southern University with a BA in Middle Grades Education in 2012. After graduating college, she taught 6th and 7th grade math and science at Morgan County Middle School for three years. Mrs. Duggan is returning to the classroom after spending a few years being a stay at home mom and helping in the office of her husband's small business. Mrs. Duggan and her family love spending time together at their family farm, on the boat or with friends!

Kevin Kelsey, Middle School Bible Teacher and Varsity Boys' Basketball Coach

Kevin KelseyCoach Kevin Kelsey will be joining both the middle school to teach 7th and 8th grade Bible, and the high school to coach varsity boys' basketball. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a BS in Speech Communication. Coach Kelsey has been teaching and coaching in Los Angeles for the past 24 years. Prior to that, he served for four years with Cru's Student Venture ministry in San Diego. He and his wife moved to Augusta this summer with their three children. He loves military history, good music and SEC sports.

Candice Kelsey, Upper School English

Candice KelseyMrs. Candice Kelsey will be joining the Upper School to teach English. She graduated from Miami University (OH) with a BA in English and Loyola Marymount University with an MA, also in English. Mrs. Kelsey has taught high school English at private schools in Los Angeles for the past 24 years. She is also an author and working poet who recently published her first full collection of poems. She and her husband, Coach Kelsey, moved to Augusta this summer with their three children. Mrs. Kelsey loves the LA Dodgers, a good murder mystery and anything related to Melville's epic novel Moby Dick.

Christianne Gates Bartelt, Upper School History

Christianne BarteltDr. Bartelt will be joining the upper school teaching 9th and 10th grade history. She graduated from Huntington University with a BA in History, then completed her Masters and PhD at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England. Dr. Bartelt taught history at Porter-Gaud in Charleston, South Carolina for six years before moving to South Dakota where she stayed home with her newborn daughter, Adelaide Elizabeth, while her husband served as the Associate Pastor at a local Lutheran church. Dr. Bartelt graduated from high school in Augusta and is excited to be back home and closer to family. She loves playing with her daughter, reading, watching cooking shows, winning board games and walking her miniature Australian Shepherd.

Stephanie Carter, Upper School Math

Stephanie CarterMrs. Stephanie Carter will be joining the upper school teaching math. She graduated from Augusta State University with a BBA in Accounting and a MA in Teaching Mathematics. After teaching for two years at Greenbrier High School, Mrs. Carter began homeschooling her children. She has homeschooled for ten years. During that time she has worked as a math tutor, facilitated math courses at a local community college, taught homeschool co-op classes and founded an academic homeschool co-op in Greenwood, South Carolina. Through her teaching experience, Mrs. Carter has taught a full math curriculum at every level, from kindergarten through pre-calculus. She is passionate about helping students build a strong foundation in understanding mathematical concepts. As her oldest child begins her third year at Westminster, Mrs. Carter is thrilled to return to the classroom along with her younger two children. She is excited for the opportunity to come alongside students and parents during such formative years. In her free time she enjoys walking, reading and spending time with her large extended family.

Ogden Tabb, Upper School Bible and Economics

Ogden TabbOgden Tabb, Jr. will be joining the upper school teaching Bible and Economics. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA in Political Science and Economics. Upon graduation, Ogden worked as an economist for nearly two years with Wilbur Smith Associates in Columbia, South Carolina. After serving as a volunteer with Young Life during his time in Columbia, he left his work in economics to pursue a career in outreach ministry to teenagers. Young Life sent him and his wife, Kelly, to Greenville, South Carolina for two years. Young Life brought them to Augusta in 2004 where he served as Young Life Area Director for eight years. From there he spent a little over four years in the financial services industry with Wells Fargo, Morgan Stanley and Cherry Bekaert. In 2017, Ogden launched his own employee engagement consulting firm, Pelican Talent, which comes alongside small business owners to help them care for their employees. One of his primary clients have been various Chik-fil-A restaurants throughout town. The father of five children - Ogden III (WSA '21), Jack (WSA '22), Maggie, Eloise and Hampton - Ogden is excited to utlilize his diverse background and particular gifts to care for and instruct Westminster students.

Mitch Welborn, School Chaplain

Mitch WelbornRev. Welborn will be joining our team in a new role as the school chaplain. He graduated from Samford University with a BA in Sociology and went on to attend seminary at Covenant Theological Seminary, where he received a Masters of Divinity and a Masters of Counseling. Most recently, Rev. Welborn moved from St. Paul, MN where he was the Associate Pastor at CityLife Church for four years. He has served for over 14 years in various pastoral roles in churches in Texas, Alabama and Minnesota. Mitch and his wife, Kristen, are native southerners and moved to Augusta in November. They have three daughters at Westminster: Mary Louise (10), Ella (8) and Amelia (6). Rev. Welborn also enjoys being outdoors and listening to music.

John Petrey, Lower School Principal

John PetreyMr. John Petrey was appointed the Lower School Principal for the 2021-22 school year in April. John attended Appalachian State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Mr. Petrey received his Master of Arts in Teaching at Columbia International University and completed his Master of Education in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina. John, his wife Michelle, and three children moved to Augusta in July 2021 and have already felt at home. John loves fishing, cooking, traveling, great coffee and college sports.

Katrina Selby, Director of Marketing & Communications

Katrina SelbyKatrina Selby joined Westminster in June as the Director of Marketing & Communications. She holds both a BA and MBA from Augusta University. She has recently returned to the workforce after spending the last eight years as a full-time mom to her two children. Prior to being a full-time mom, Katrina worked in marketing and event planning for the Augusta Convention & Visitors Bureau and Club Car. Katrina enjoys being outside, reading and going on adventures with her husband and children..
