Bravos to Westminster STAR Student, Sydney Roseman and STAR Teacher, Mrs. Whitney Diehl.

The PAGE Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program honors Georgia's highest achieving high school seniors and the teachers who have been most instrumental in their academic development. To obtain the STAR nomination, high school students must have the highest score on any single test date of the SAT. The student then selects a teacher to receive special recognition as a vital part in this student's success.
Sydney began attending Westminster Schools of Augusta when she was in 7th grade. Throughout her high school career Sydney has maintained a 4.0 GPA. She has also been involved in a variety of leadership opportunities as a member of the varsity soccer and cross country teams, a member of the Schoolwide Honor Council, the Student Leadership Team, National Honors Society, Debate Society, and the Red Cross Youth Board.
"I feel incredibly undeserving and grateful to be this year's STAR student. It is a testament to the Lord's faithfulness and not to anything that I have done on my own strength," Sydney stated. "I am thankful to have had the blessing of attending Westminster, a school that has prepared me beyond measure for all challenges of life, academic and spiritual. God has worked so evidently during my time here."
When asked about the exciting recognition, Sydney exclaims that she is so thankful for the constant support from all of the Westminster faculty members, especially Mrs. Whitney Diehl.
"Teaching Sydney is a privilege because she takes her learning so seriously. She approaches her work with passion, and not just passion about her grades," stated Whitney. "She truly cares about everything she takes part in, from classes to friendships to serving her school and teammates, and she is introspective and thus able to challenge herself and grow."
After graduation in May 2020 Sydeny plans on attending Georgia Tech to study International Affairs and Modern Languages, concentrating in French. She also hopes to complete her Masters in four years at Tech and potentially attend law school upon completion.
