protocols were in place at our first swim meet keeping us safe while we achieved many state qualifying times. WSA was among seven large and small GISA and GHSA teams, competing in Watkinsville, GA on Friday night. We missed our supportive parents cheering us on deck and our traditional Chick-fil-a post meet meal, but we had a lot of fun and swam some great races. Big thanks to Mrs. Lippe, Mrs. Wilson, Mr. Durell , and Mr. Malzer who all swept in and provided much needed transportation, support, timing, and food. Thank you !
Congratulations to our JV boys who won by a wide margin and to our 4 JV girls who, despite their small number, also claimed a definitive victory. It is worth mentioning that all 4 girls, Charis Rueggeberg, Charlotte Stansfield, Caroline and Hannah Wilson are brand new to WSA Swimming. Way to go girls and welcome to the team! Some new swimmers have also joined our JV boys team. These "newbies" contributed not only by swimming in winning relays but also by earning over 20 individual points each in their very first meet. Way to go and welcome Elijah Dawoud, Benjamin Lewis and Jacob Oremus.
Congratulations to our experienced varsity girls team for their well deserved 2nd place finish. Way to go girls! Our varsity boys placed 4th and would like to welcome Hayes Hinson to the team. Congratulations Hayes for achieving GISA state qualifying times in both events in your very first swim meet!
Friday was a very promising start; we can not wait to see what WSA swimming can achieve this season.
Go Wildcats!
