Our Wildcat Cross Country teams kicked off their seasons this past weekend!

Both the Varsity and Middle School cross country teams opened their seasons on Saturday, August 15 at the Augusta Eagles Invitational which featured 16 high schools and 10 middle schools.
The Varsity Boys were led by freshman, Adam Lippe, who finished 12th overall. Junior Brad Joiner also finished in the top 20. The boys team finished 6th.
The Varsity girls were led by newcomer Abigail Knight, running in her first cross country meet. Abigail finished 15th while sophomore Emerson Eubank and junior Claire Peacock also finished in the top 25 to lead the girls to a 4th place finish.
In the middle school races, 7th grader Lucas Johnson took top honors, cruising to an easy win in the boys 3K race in a time of 10:46, nearly 30 seconds ahead of the 2nd place finisher. Patrick Joiner finished 4th, while 6th grader, Ethan Dawkins, finished in the top 20 in his first ever cross country meet. These three paced the boys to a 4th place finish.
In the girls race, top runner, Kassidy Watson was forced to drop out midway through the race after suffering an ankle injury, but 6th grade phenom, Molly Bramhall, stepped up and led all Wildcats with a 16th place finish. The second Wildcat to cross the finish line was 5th grader Kaylee Charles Finch. The middle school girls finished 5th.
