Megan is a dynamic leader, an attentive listener, and a creative problem solver. She is approachable with an energetic disposition and develops strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Megan sets high expectations in all that she does at Westminster and will work diligently to continue Westminster's tradition of excellence.

Before being led to Westminster, Megan served as the Grade 3 classroom teacher at Savannah Country Day School (SCDS), an independent, progressive PK-12 school in Savannah, GA for four years. While there, Megan became a prominent member of the school?s multicultural committee and established professional development options for the school while implementing inclusivity lessons into the curriculum. Megan also worked to mentor SCDS teachers on lower school age-appropriate curriculum implementation. Prior to SCDS, Megan worked internationally as a Grade 2 classroom teacher at Dubai American Academy where she facilitated technology workshops on effective literacy assessment and served as the leadership committee representative.

Megan attended The State University of New York where she graduated magna cum laude with a degree in childhood education and special education with a concentration in mathematics. Megan finished her masters in curriculum and instruction in 2017 at Georgia Southern University graduating summa cum laude

Megan joined our community last August when she and her husband relocated to Augusta. As one of the current Grade 3 teachers at Westminster, Megan has a love for the school and a wonderful understanding of our mission, internal community, and culture. Megan states that it is an honor and privilege to work with the outstanding faculty, parents, and students of the Lower School in this new role. "As we transition together, I look forward to faithfully serving our school and furthering the mission of Westminster." Megan brings a wealth of classroom experience to the role and we are delighted she will be joining the administrative leadership team. She looks forward to communicating with and getting to know all of our Lower School parents.

Megan will be working closely for the remainder of this school year with Sue Ames, to ensure a smooth transition. She will officially start her new position on July 1, 2020. Later on this month, Westminster will host a parent coffee in our newly finished Lower School classroom to meet Megan. More information and a RSVP link will be emailed out to parents in the coming weeks. Please join me in congratulating Megan and welcoming her as the new Lower School principal for the 2020-21 school year.

Blessings,
