The Lady Cats opened their 2019-20 basketball season with 3 games in 4 nights and had a solid week going 2-1 and showing improvement each night.

WSA tipped things off against a formidable Bulloch Academy team and struggled to get untracked, eventually falling 39-25. The following night, Westminster hosted Edmund Burke in another defensive slugfest & evened their record at 1-1 with a hard fought 30-24 victory.
The week capped off with a rare Thursday night game on the road against Fox Creek, a team the Lady Cats have never lost to & WSA struggled early but eventually won 42-30 to place their mark at 2-1 on the season.
The Lady Cats were paced by senior wing Genevieve Waller’s 13 points in each of their first 3 games. Her final basket against Fox Creek on Thursday was the 1,000th point of her career, becoming the 6th Lady Cat in history to achieve the 1K points mark. Waller will be honored at WSA’s next home contest.
WSA will take a 12-day hiatus from their schedule for Thanksgiving Break & return to the floor for a rematch against Edmund Burke on December 3 in Waynesboro & plays them a third time 2 nights later in the opening round of the Garden City Classic at Augusta Prep on December 5th.
