For the second consecutive year the Wildcat Boys and Girls Varsity Cross Country Teams competed at the Aubrae Gunderson Invitational in Conyers, and in keeping with 2018, minutes were dropped from personal best and total team times.

On the boys side, Cooper Keuroglian (18:56) ran under 19 minutes for the first time while Brad Joiner (19:44) broke the 20 minute barrier. Will Puckett (20:01) and Eli Scott (20:05) lowered their bests and Sam Williamson (20:47) rounded out the top 5.

For the girls, Emerson Eubank once again lead the team by shaving nearly 1.5 minutes off her pervious best time to run 23:17. Rachel Goodell (24:20) and Claire Peacock (24:36) each ran huge PR's, and actually ran faster than any Lady Wildcat in 2018. Libby Carter (25:34) and Reagan Lutz (25:56) each ran strong to complete the scoring.

Other notable personal bests include Julia Andrews (26:35), Sydney Roseman (27:22), Brooks Johnson (21:52) and Jack Massey (26:42).

Overall both the boys and girls finished 7th against tough teams, many from the GHSAA. The boys competed against 13 teams while the girls raced 9.

"I am very proud of everyone's performance from the race" said varsity coach Janelle Branch. "Our strategy was to go out hard through the two mile and then try to get faster. Everyone performed beautifully and now we have some time to work on our weak points."

The Varsity Wildcats will be in action on October 2nd at the Heathwood Hall Invitational in Columbia, SC.
