FOOTBALL
Middle School Football:
The Westminster Wildcats Middle School Football team came away with a big victory at home in overtime on Thursday, September 5 against Augusta Prep in exciting fashion. They overcame an eight point deficit late in the second half to tie the game and eventually win it on their first offensive play in overtime after the defense held Prep to negative five yards on their overtime possession. The Wildcats were led by Harrison Fitzgerald with 203 yards passing along with 2 TDs through the air and Evan Landrum who amassed 191 all-purpose yards and 3 TDs, 2 receiving and 1 on the ground.
The Middle School Wildcats will be at home again this Thursday, September 12 at 6 pm with a tough matchup against St. Mary’s.
Varsity Football:
Our Varsity Wildcats put up seven first-half touchdowns as they rolled to a 55-6 win over Young Americans Christian on Friday night.
Joseph Jackson rushed for two touchdowns and returned a punt 59 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter.
Quarterback Thomas Saul was 4-4 for 79 yards, including a 20-yard touchdown pass to Grant Fuller.
Kicker Samuel Carter added field goals of 26 and 35 yards and was perfect on seven point-after kicks on the night.
Young Americans’ Jake Haynes returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown to end Westminster’s upset bid in the fourth quarter.

GOLF
The Middle School Golf team finished 3rd at the Forest Hills match this past Monday, September 9. Gavin Fox was the Wildcats low scorer for the day and he led the team to a total combined score of 181. The next match is on Wednesday, September 11 at Aiken Golf Club at 4 PM.
TENNIS
Congrats to our Middle School Boys Tennis team for winning their match Thursday, September 5 against Augusta Prep 5-0. The girls also had good matches and are continuing to improve. The #2 girls doubles team Charis Rueggeberg-Ella Reyn Duckworth won 8-1.
Our Middle School Tennis teams will be playing St. Mary's of Augusta away Tuesday, September 10 and EDS at Newman on Thursday, September 12.
BOOSTER CLUB
A Family Membership is only $185 for the entire year and among other benefits, provides free admission to all regular-season home athletic contests. Other membership levels are also available.
