Westminster has partnered with Brewton-Parker College to offer classes for high school and college credit!

Parents gathered on Monday night to hear about Westminster’s exciting new dual enrollment opportunities from Tabitha Chapman, Dual Enrollment Coordinator of Brewton-Parker College. Starting in school year 2019-20, Westminster will partner with Brewton-Parker College to offer the following courses for juniors and seniors that can earn them both high school and college credit:
- HIS 202 (US History to 1877)
- HIS 203 (US History 1877-Present)
- ENG 101 (Writing and Rhetoric)
- ENG 102 (Rhetoric and Literature)
- POL 202 (American Government) *seniors only
"I look forward to launching our new dual enrollment courses next school year. We've put a tremendous amount of research into finding a college that is mission-appropriate and has a high academic standard. Our upper school students are blessed to have this opportunity to earn both high school and college credit, at no extra cost to the family, all the while being taught by our excellent faculty,” shared Head of School Brian Case.
Upper School Principal Cindy Bramhall expressed her excitement about this new partnership with Brewton-Parker College and said “The tuition, textbooks, and fees are fully funded by the state, making it a valuable and affordable option for students. Having a second avenue to earn college credit in addition to Advanced Placement courses allows even more of our students to explore their interests while also preparing for college. Being one of the only schools in the area to offer dual enrollment courses on our campus adds an element of convenience and safety for our students to participate in the program. We are thrilled to be expanding our options!"
At this time, parents have the opportunity to change their students’ course selections for next year and add any of these new course options.
