Boys soccer wins GISA state title for 6th consecutive year!

The boys varsity soccer team took home their sixth consecutive Georgia Independent School Association state championship title on Saturday, May 11, after defeating Holy Spirit Prep at Mercer University in Macon. With the game tied 1-1 going into the last five minutes, Westminster senior Anders McCallie scored the game-winning goal to put the Wildcats ahead 2-1!
Coach Sean McLarnon took over as head coach this year with the goal of continuing Westminster’s streak of winning the state title. "This was a very special group of guys for me, and we will hold the memories we made this season for the rest of our lives. We really set our standards high as far as results go, but managed to accomplish all our team goals: undefeated at home, undefeated region, and state champions. In addition, I believe we set a school record by only allowing seven goals the entire season, and keeping a clean sheet through all of post-season. More importantly, I am extremely proud of how these guys lived out our mission as far as our program philosophy goes; we didn't just win state, but we did so with character,” says McClarnon.
Congratulations to the boys soccer team!
