Westminster Schools of Augusta awarded grant to host the 2019 GenCyber Summer Teacher Camp.

Westminster Schools of Augusta is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a substantial grant to host a GenCyber Middle Grades Teacher camp on our campus this summer. GenCyber is a nationwide program funded by the NSA and the National Science Foundation whose goal is to raise up the next generation of Cyber stars through education. This summer, 30 middle grades teachers (5th - 8th grades) will be selected to participate in the Westminster Schools of Augusta GenCyber Teacher camp where they will develop the skills they will need to raise up the next generation of Cyber stars. Through a series of engaging, hands-on activities, the selected teachers will learn how to integrate the basics of Cybersecurity, algorithmic thinking, and computational problem solving seamlessly into their curriculum. The selected teachers will receive a substantial stipend for attending the camp that will take place at Westminster Schools of Augusta from June 10-14, 2019. As our nation becomes more and more reliant on cyber-based technology, it is critical to begin developing students who will be able to move into the Cybersecurity workforce. Westminster Schools of Augusta is proud to partner with GenCyber in their efforts to train young students to be creative problem solvers and critical thinkers who are inspired to direct their talents to the field of cybersecurity. Applications for the teacher camp at Westminster Schools of Augusta will open on February 8, 2019. Please visit wsa.net/gencybercamp for more information and to apply!
