General

8/14/2018

Meet our new trustees, current parents Aimee Lynch and Jon Dawkins, and alumni parent, Rusty McGahee.

Aimee Lynch

Spouse: Sean
Children: Ethan '16, Ellie '18, Kate '20, Benji '22
Church: First Presbyterian Church of Augusta

Mrs. Lynch has been involved with the Westminster community in several roles, from being a parent of four students, to teaching in both the Middle and Upper Schools, serving as admissions director, and more recently serving as president of FOFA. Mrs. Lynch is looking forward to serving on the board, particularly on the Advancement committee where she can use her institutional knowledge from teaching at Westminster and her eight years of serving as admissions director to address issues related to enrollment. What she values most about Westminster is the commitment of our teachers who shower our students with the love of Christ while educating them at a level no less than excellent.

Rusty McGahee

Spouse: Thayer
Children: Mary Frances '10, Kelly '12, Rebecca '14
Church: First Presbyterian Church of Augusta

Mr. McGahee is looking forward to serving on the board and continuing to be involved with Westminster community, especially since his three daughters have all graduated. It was seeing in other children the difference a Westminster education makes in the lives of our students that initially led him to enroll his daughters here. He wanted for his own children to have the same gift of a Westminster education. Once here, he couldn?t help but notice the special care of each student by the faculty, not just in academics, but also with their emotional well-being and spirituality as well. As a trustee he is hoping to make a difference himself by promoting our school to others and encouraging them to join the Westminster family.

Jon Dawkins

Spouse: Rachel
Children: Ashlyn '19, Katelyn '22, Ethan '27
Church: True North Church

It is the Christ-centered environment along with strong academics that led the Dawkins family to Westminster over 13 years ago. After visiting all of the Christian schools in the area, Mr. Dawkins said, Westminster stood out above the rest. He especially appreciates the school's unwavering commitment to keeping Jesus at the center of everything while always pursuing excellence in every facet of its operations. He is looking forward to serving on the board to help Westminster stays true to its mission and vision of glorifying God, providing an excellent education, and equipping students to live extraordinary lives for Jesus Christ. He wants to ensure that his [future] grandchildren will have the same opportunities and experiences at Westminster as his children have now. In looking back when they first chose Westminster, Mr. Dawkins is grateful to have chosen a school that has come alongside him and his wife Rachel to help mold his children into the men and women that God created them to be.
