10th Grade College Preparation

  • CSRA College Night, Civic Center 5:00-8:30pm

  • PSAT
  • Get involved in extracurricular activities; find ways to be a leader in and outside of school.
November
  • Focus on academics
  • Explore and get involved in volunteer opportunities
December
  • PSAT scores mailed
  • Keep up with your reading for the SAT next year.   The more you read, the higher your verbal score is likely to be.
January
  • Using your PSAT scores, begin researching colleges through listed websites
February
  • Consider a summer program.
  • Continue with volunteer work, club activities, or a part-time job.
  • Plan your 11 th grade course selection.   If you have questions, contact the college counselor or Academic Dean.
March
  • Begin visits to nearby colleges – possibly during your Spring Break.

  • Register for May/June SAT IIs.   Ask your current teacher for more information.
