PREKINDERGARTEN READINESS

We want everyone who joins our student body to be ready for the rich and challenging academic experience we offer. In PreKindergarten, this means being able to follow directions and to learn comfortably in a group setting. Being able to show teachers and others students respect is very important, as well. We require that a student demonstrate a developmental age of 4 to 41/2 on the Gesell Developmental Inventory, a brief assessment of school readiness.

PROGRAM CURRICULUM:
(8:10 a.m.-noon)

* Development of gross motor skills
* Meaning of numbers
* Math manipulatives (sorting, graphing, pattering, etc.)
* Social/personal growth
* Fun with letters
* Oral language development
* Listening
* Bible
* P.E., Art, Library, Music

TESTING:

* Group screening
* Gesell Development Inventory
